Environmental requirements cost millions of dollars for job providers to implement. Michigan’s environmental policies should be based upon sound science and reasoning. They need to be implemented objectively and designed to make Michigan more competitive with surrounding states and in the global economy.

MMA will pursue all of the following environmental reform measures:

• Continue to Advocate for Efficiencies in the Part 201 Environmental Remediation Program
• Advocate Returning More General Fund Support to Regulatory Programs
• Oppose Any Efforts to Exceed Federal Climate Change Requirements
• Fight to Repeal DEQ’s Administrative Rule on Mercury Reductions
• Oppose Tax Increases on Manufacturers for Waste Disposal
• Oppose Environmental Justice Efforts That Affect Permitting
• Support the Beneficial Reuse of Industrial By-products
