Background: Tax or fee increases on employers, directly or indirectly, are not viable remedies to cover the cost of the uninsured and public health plans.

MMA Position: To identify a more equitable revenue solution for the Health Care Claims Tax, PA 142 of 2011, MMA will engage the Administration and Medicaid providers anticipating the legislation's 2-year sunset. To ensure the appropriate and efficient use of manufacturer's tax dollars, MMA will support efforts to fight fraud, waste and abuse within the Medicaid system and implement meaningful cost-saving reforms to the system.
