MMA Led Initiative for Sweeping Workers' Compensation Reform Passes Senate
The largest change made over the last 30 years to the Workers’ Compensation Disability Insurance Act was passed by the Senate yesterday, Wednesday, December 7, 2011 with the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) leading the charge for reform. The business community and employees will soon have a system that is fair, balanced and most of all predictable.

MMA Campaign Supports Michigan as True Mitten State
A new Travel Wisconsin campaign which attempts to highjack the “Mitten State” moniker has Michiganians — and the state’s leading manufacturing organization — up in arms. The Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) is rallying the organization’s members, and the general public, in support of Michigan’s right to retain the undisputed title as the true Mitten State.

Report Shows Necessity of PPT Repeal
A report released on November 16, 2011 by the Anderson Economic Group offers strong support for the Michigan Manufacturers Association's (MMA) call to eliminate Michigan's Personal Property Tax. The report, The Michigan Personal Property Tax: Effects of Repeal on Michigan's Economy and Tax Revenue, concludes that eliminating Michigan's Personal Property Tax (PPT) would improve the state's competitive position relative to other states, even if most of the lost revenue were replaced by other taxes.
